Order Management System

An order management system for a national FMCG distributor, from the warehouse to the field.

Problem

Orders from hundreds of retailers were taken on paper by field reps, phoned in, and re-typed at head office. Stock levels were out of date by the time an order was placed, and management had no live view of what was selling where.

Build

Canberra Limited imports and distributes consumer goods across Bangladesh. We replaced paper order books with a three-part system: a central API, an admin panel for head office, and a field app for sales representatives on the road.

Chapter 02

What we built

We built one API and two front-ends on top of it. Sales representatives use a lightweight mobile-first app to place orders against live stock while standing in a shop. Head office sees every order arrive in real time in the admin panel, approves and dispatches, and reports on sales by product, area and rep. The corporate website was rebuilt alongside it.
